About me
Education and Experience
I received my BA from Swarthmore College in 1992, my Masters in Social Work from the Smith College School for Social Work in 2000, and my Ph.D. in psychoanalytic sociology from U.C. Berkeley in 2005.
I have over nine years of experience in providing individual, couples, and adolescent psychotherapy. I have provided psychotherapy services for a wide range of clients in clinics, schools, hospitals, agencies, and private practice.
I have written on a range of topics, including teenage sexuality, feminism, bisexuality, and gender. I wrote the chapter on psychoanalytic theory in the textbook The Psychology of Gender, published by Guilford Press in 2004 and used in undergraduate and graduate psychology courses. I have taught college and graduate level courses and lectured nationally on sexuality, female psychology, and theories of gender.

Insurance
Some plans will reimburse for my services, so you may want to check to see if you have coverage for individual psychotherapy with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker of your choice. I am happy to prepare a monthly statement for you to submit to your insurance company for the purpose of reimbursement. However, I do not have openings in managed care plans that require you to use an in-network provider.
